Job Description
Job Summary:
The QHSE Professional will be expected to perform Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality duties that follow well-established procedures and practices. The work involves varied tasks that include constant liaising with Employees from other departments – Site Engineers, Site Supervisors, General Staff, etc.
Main responsibilities:
- Advise and intervene on unsafe acts and violations of safety practices. Participate and train workers to use the observation program Hazard HUNT CARD.
- Be able to record behaviors and timely address the corrective action plan. Follow up and prevent re-occurrence.
- Prepare safety orientation/site induction, safety training, and job site procedures. Direct or assist in the development of specialized education and training materials
- Conduct accident/incident investigation and work with management to prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize future recurrences
- Maintain documentation and prepare QHSE reports
- Plan and organize safety culture enhancement activities
- Maintain an up-to-date training matrix for all safety training
- Actively participate in the Safety committee meetings and document meeting minutes and share them with management
- Participate in conducting & maintain current site QHSE risk assessments
- Provide advice on the implementation of & verify compliance to safe working procedures, and requirements of the STOP Card/HAZHUNT Card program, Monitor the STOP Card program process, and actions to ensure they are followed up & closed out
- Provide advice on the application of the hierarchy of controls as part of the risk management process
- Field or Site visits as per schedule to verify compliance
- Regularly inspect which substances are used in facilities & ensure MSDS were placed in the record
- Prepare and update HSE statistical tracking and trending data
- Assist Project HSE Manager with client’s HSE requirements and assist in compliance
- Assist to develop HSE Plans that comply with Company policies and procedures
- Provide Project HSE Manager with feedback on HSE performance
- Provide relevant information for monthly HSE reports
- Attends pre-job, planning, and other client meetings as required
- Organize HSE Committee Meetings, Activities, and Awareness sessions
- Implement Action plans for corrective measures resulting from Internal Audits, External Audits, Site Safety inspections, Equipment Defects, Management Review Meetings, and Emergency Drills.
- Review of all Departmental Monthly checklists
- Prepare all documentation for Management Review Meetings Experience and training
Qualifications:
- BSc Environmental Science + NEBOSH IGC OR NEBOSH IGC
- Experience: 2 years experience in a QHSE Position ideally in the Construction Industry
- Fluent in both written and oral English
- Strong MS Office skills
- Must be passionate, and disciplined with strong analytical, negotiating, interpersonal, and communications skills.
